Heidelberg Materials is a leading supplier of heavy building materials to the construction industry. We produce aggregates (crushed rock, sand and gravel), ready-mixed concrete, asphalt, cement and cement-related materials. Our products underpin communities and are used to build homes, schools and hospitals as well as the construction of roads, bridges, tunnels and other major infrastructure projects.
We employ over 3,500 people in the UK in a wide range of roles and are part of the Heidelberg Cement Group, one of the largest building materials manufacturers in the world, which has leading global positions in aggregates, cement and concrete.
We operate over 300 sites across the country from quarries and cement works to depots and wharves. Our UK headquarters is in Maidenhead while our customer service team is based in Syston, Leicestershire.
Our national logistics division supports all of our UK business. It is managed by four regional transport teams that control the daily activities of our fully integrated road fleet of around 1,200 Heidelberg Materials-liveried vehicles.
Our combined fleet delivers an average of 750,000 tonnes of aggregates, asphalt, cement and 80,000m3 of ready-mixed concrete per week.
